IDS Founding Day 2nd virtual seminar
The Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi, is pleased to invite you the second seminar in celebration of IDS Day on Friday, October 9, 2020.
The first virtual event will look at the ‘The Role of the Academy in the Development Processes: Dimensions and Perspectives at a Critical Juncture for Development’ and will take place from 2:00 PM to 5.00 PM.
The speakers are Sharon Fonn, Professor of Public Health at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits), Tade Aina, a senior academic and the outgoing Executive Director at PASGR, Funmi Olanisakin, Vice President & Vice Principal International and Professor of Security, Leadership & Development at Kings College London and Prof. Rosemary Atieno, Associate Professor at the Institute for Development Studies (IDS).

Since its inception on October 8, 1965, IDS has carried out research on issues of development concern and has been collaborating with partners locally and globally to influence development policy and practice. The seminars will also pay attention to the Kenya debate of the 70s and 80s– ‘What went right’ and ‘what has gone wrong.’
